Genesis 12:1-3
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Galatians 3:13-14
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

1. A Promise (v. 1)

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
- Note: Speaks of Commitment “I will…” used over and over again.

"I will SHEW thee" … this is a promise to be a present teacher along the journey.
- THIS DEALS WITH PRESENCE & PREPARATION!!!
2. A Portion (v. 2)

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Note: Speaks of Inheritance. A culmination of receiving that for which one has been prepared.
- THIS DEALS WITH EMPOWERMENT!!!
3. A Prophecy (v. 3)

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Note: Speaks of Faith
- THIS DEALS WITH SECURITY. ANCHOR THEIR HOPE IN JESUS CHRIST ABOVE ALL ELSE!
CONCLUSION:
Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Rev. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
