Backyard Mission: Brotherhood & WOW in Action
March 22, 2025 – What happens when Brotherhood and WOW Ministries team up with a tractor, a few weed eaters, and a whole lot of heart? You get a day of ministry in motion — and two very blessed backyards.
This past Saturday, volunteers from Washington Heights Baptist Church rallied together to help Mr. Dean Payton and Ms. Joy Barecca, both of whom had significant storm damage. From raking and trimming to stump removal and brush hauling, there wasn’t a task that didn’t get tackled.
We had a strong turnout from our church family — too many names to list, but every hand made a difference. And in a powerful reminder that community goes beyond church walls, Tom LaMasters, not a member but clearly cut from the same cloth, showed up just to lend a hand.
After hours of work and plenty of progress, the crew enjoyed a well-earned meal of grilled sausage dogs, burgers, and cold drinks, served up with smiles and shared stories.
It was one of those days where ministry felt like family and service felt like joy. Scroll down for the photo album and take a look at what happens when faith puts on work gloves.
*A special thanks to Lester Jenkins & Chris Miles for inspiring and leading in this successful ministry effort!
UPCOMING: May Missions at Ms. Peggy Lovejoy's home. Stay tuned and plan to get involved!!
